The Healthy Aging Program at Atlantic Health System suggests the following helpful resources to help seniors find social service programs so they can maintain their independence and quality of life:

• Alzheimer’s Adult Day Services Program
  This NJ program partially subsidizes the out-of-pocket cost of adult day care services for persons with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia. Applicants must meet eligibility criteria and receive services at a participating adult day provider.

• Lifeline, Link Up and Toll Limitation Services (TLS)
  Lifeline is a government program that offers qualified low income households a discount on their monthly local landline telephone bill and may pay for initial service connection costs; must participate in either Medicaid, PAAD, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) to qualify.

• Non-Driver State Photo ID
  For those who do not have a driver’s license, the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission provides a non-driver photo ID that can be obtained at any motor vehicle agency.

• Pharmaceutical Assistance to the Aged and Disabled (PAAD) and Senior Gold Resource Center
  PAAD provides assistance with the payment of prescriptions to people 65 years of age or older or disabled individuals who meet income guidelines; Senior Gold assists those whose income exceeds PAAD limits

• Senior Citizen Discount Program for E-ZPass
  E-ZPass offers seniors age 65 or older a 10 percent discount on tolls on the Garden State Parkway and NJ Turnpike during weekday off-peak hours and weekends.

  NJ Residents age 62 or older are entitled to a discount which allows free entry and parking at any park, forest or historic site administered by the NJ Division of Parks & Forestry.

• Senior Farmer’s Market Nutrition Program (SFMNP)
  The Senior Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program provides qualified seniors $20 in vouchers to use towards the purchase of fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs at local farmers’ markets. Program operates from June 1 to November 30 every year.

• Special Automobile Insurance Policy (SAIP)
  Helps with limited automobile insurance coverage available to some Medicaid beneficiaries, as well as offering a medical coverage-only policy for $365 a year

  These programs pay partial or full Medicare Part B premiums for eligible low-income NJ residents who are not financially eligible for the Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB) program under NJ Medicaid.

• Supplemental Security Income (SSI)

• Weatherization Assistance Program
  The NJ Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) provides income-qualified residents with services that reduce household energy use and costs by improving the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety. The program then will assist with tasks such as installing insulation, weather stripping, wrapping hot water tanks, and repairing or replacing heating systems.
