Anyone can be an Auxiliary member. You can join any existing branch or start your own branch with your friends and neighbors. Your branch can decide which projects it would most enjoy doing. Each branch holds regularly scheduled meetings and participates in various projects, including knitting baby blankets, caps and lap blankets, and caroling with Santa.

Atlantic Health Newton Medical Center Auxiliary Celebrates 90 Years of Service
The Newton Medical Center Foundation recently hosted a celebration honoring the Auxiliary of Newton Medical Center’s impressive 90 years of volunteer service and fundraising for Atlantic Health Newton Medical Center.
Established in 1935 as the Newton Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, this group has been led by thirty presidents, the first being Mrs. Roland T. Hull who served for 11 years, and the most recent being Barbara Wylie, who was elected in 2023.
Past president Bea Rush is currently the Auxiliary’s longest serving member. She joined the Auxiliary in 1965 and is still an active member, 60 years later.
Through revenue from various fundraising events through the years, the Newton Medical Center Auxiliary has contributed over $7 million to support various Foundation funded projects at Newton Medical Center. Among many others, these include the Your Care Our Future Campaign to fund renovations in the Intensive Care Unit, the Maternity Unit and the Behavioral Health section of the Emergency Department; the Healing Hearts Campaign to upgrade the Charles L. Tice Heart Center’s Cardiac Catheterization Lab for the STEMI Program; the Transform Campaign to upgrade the 1 Hussey Cardiac Telemetry Unit; and the TogethER Campaign to transform the Emergency Department.
“The many Auxilians who have participated over these last 90 years have set a wonderful example of generosity and service,” said Sandow. “Through the many campaigns, projects, and events they have helped fund at Newton Medical Center, the Auxiliary has left an impressive legacy.”
