Kiana Bhola, MD
PGY-3 Chief Resident, Critical Care and ResearchI began my medical journey at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus. After completing my degree and internship at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the COVID-19 pandemic revealed the critical importance of frontline care, sparking my passion for critical care medicine. Seeking advanced training, I moved to the U.S., where Overlook Medical Center stood out for its inclusive and supportive environment.
Residency at Overlook has been transformative, deepening my interest in critical care through its fast-paced nature and life-saving interventions. I also discovered a passion for research, recognizing its power to shape future patient care. Beyond clinical training, Overlook nurtured my leadership skills—running rapid responses, serving on the Program Evaluation Committee, and leading wellness initiatives aa the Public Relations Officer of the Wellness Committee. I also enhanced our program’s social media presence and was honored with the IM Clinical Excellence Award at the end of my intern year.
Now, as PGY-3 Chief Resident for Critical Care and Research, I’m committed to enriching resident education and fostering scholarly activity. I aim to integrate procedural medicine into a balanced career. Outside of medicine, I enjoy NYT crossword puzzles, caring for houseplants, spending time with friends, and recently, exploring Python coding to merge technology with healthcare.
Yashini Gopal, MD
PGY-3 Chief Resident, Hospital Medicine and Resident SchedulingI began my academic journey at the University of Pittsburgh, earning a degree in Neuroscience, followed by my medical education at St. George’s University. I was drawn to this residency program for its strong camaraderie, inclusive environment, and hands-on approach to learning.
Throughout my training, I’ve valued the opportunity to take initiative in critical situations, whether it be leading rapid responses, taking leadership over ICU patients, or overseeing care from admission to discharge on the medical floors. These experiences, alongside faculty support that promotes independent, thoughtful decision-making, have been key to my development as a clinician.
As PGY-3 Chief Resident of Hospital Medicine, I’m committed to fostering a collaborative and supportive environment where residents feel empowered to grow into confident, self-directed physicians. I’m excited to contribute to the program’s ongoing efforts to prepare us for real-world clinical and leadership responsibilities. I enjoy the unique challenge of scheduling, working to balance program needs with residents’ personal and educational goals to promote both individual and team success. I believe great medicine is rooted not only in knowledge and skill but also in empathy, communication, and teamwork.
After residency, I plan to pursue a career as a hospitalist, with the potential to take on leadership or administrative roles in the future. Outside of medicine, I enjoy traveling, dancing, and hosting (and decorating!) events with friends.
Anusha Ramasray, MD
PGY-3 Chief Resident, Resident Education and Clinical Skills DevelopmentI was born and raised in the vibrant twin-island republic of Trinidad and Tobago, where I learned early on that care is both a responsibility and a privilege. After graduating from the University of the West Indies in 2017, I began my medical career in emergency medicine—a fast-paced environment that taught me to think critically, act decisively, and always see the person beyond the diagnosis. Those formative years reinforced my belief that medicine is about advocacy, trust, and ensuring equitable care for all.
In 2023, I matched into Internal Medicine at Overlook Medical Center, which quickly became my home away from home. Here, I’ve had the opportunity to grow clinically and take on leadership roles that have shaped my journey. As co-chair of the Wellness Committee and a member of the Program Evaluation, Resident Council, and CPR Committees, I’ve worked to foster a culture of support, growth, and excellence.
As Chief Resident, I’m committed to leading with humility and empathy, and to honoring the diverse voices that make our program so special. I’m proud to stand alongside my co-residents—not just as colleagues, but as family.
Outside of medicine, I love experimenting in the kitchen, writing, and taking early morning walks—my favorite way to reflect and recharge before the day begins.
Paige Seepaulsingh, MD
PGY-3 Chief Resident, Ambulatory MedicineBorn and raised on the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago, I began my medical education at the University of the West Indies, St. Augustine. It was there that my passion for internal medicine first took shape, driven by a curiosity for complex clinical cases and a desire to support patients with empathy and evidence-based care.
My journey led me to Overlook Medical Center, where I found more than just a residency program—I found a community. The inclusive culture, emphasis on wellness, and dedication to education made Overlook the ideal place to grow both personally and professionally. Caring for a diverse patient population and managing high-acuity cases has sharpened my clinical judgment and deepened my compassion. The support from faculty and the camaraderie among residents have been central to my development.
As Ambulatory Chief Resident, I’m excited to focus on preventive care and chronic disease management. I’m committed to improving patient outcomes through innovative care models, interdisciplinary collaboration, and culturally sensitive, patient-centered care.
Outside of medicine, I prioritize balance and well-being. I enjoy working out at the gym, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends—activities that keep me grounded and energized for the work ahead.
