At Atlantic Health System facilities, we want to ensure that all necessary steps are in place for a smooth and safe transition back home after your hospital stay. When the person who will take you home has arrived:
- Notify your nurse
- Decide with your nurse whether or not you will need a wheelchair to leave your hospital room
- Check all closets, bathrooms, nightstands and tray tables for your belongings; the hospital cannot be responsible for personal items left behind
- Retrieve all valuables and medications from the security and pharmacy departments if you have items in those departments
