Concussion Rehabilitation

Concussions are the result of head trauma that immediately disrupts normal brain functioning, resulting in symptoms that may include headache, dizziness, loss of short term memory, nausea and vomiting.

At Atlantic Rehabilitation, we provide adults and children with post-concussion rehabilitation services that can be tailored to individual needs, depending upon the severity of the condition.

During treatment, our medical team of physical therapists, physicians and athletic trainers carefully monitors the patient’s heart rate and blood pressure, as well as the status of their symptoms and recovery progress. Neuropsychological testing may be required.  In the case of athletes, we’ll closely follow their recovery to ensure that they resume competition only when it's safe to do so.
