Morristown Medical Center named number one hospital in NJ with more than 350 beds

Chilton Medical Center named number one hospital in NJ with less than 350 beds

MARCH 28, 2022, Morristown – Atlantic Health System’s medical centers are at the top of the list when it comes to hospital reputation in New Jersey, according to the latest ranking from renowned health care research and information company, Castle Connolly.

All results are based on the votes of more than 1,100 physicians and reflect Atlantic Health System’s strong reputation among physicians across the state.

Morristown Medical Center and Chilton Medical Center remain ranked number one in the state on their respective lists of the “Top Hospital Overall,” published annually in Jersey’s Best magazine. This is the fourth year out of the last five Morristown has ranked number one, and the seventh consecutive year Chilton has earned the top spot. Overlook Medical Center in Summit is number 11 on the list of more than 350 beds, while Goryeb Children’s Hospital (5th) and Hackettstown Medical Center (15th) again placed on the list of less than 350 beds. Atlantic Health System partner, CentraState Medical Center in Freehold, is ranked number three (more than 350 beds).

Castle Connolly also ranked performance in a variety of specialties: breast cancer, congestive heart failure, coronary artery bypass surgery, high risk pregnancy and birth, hip and knee replacement, neurological disorders, pain management, prostate cancer, stroke, and pediatric cancer.

  • Morristown Medical Center swept first place rankings for all treatment categories and was number one for “patients highly satisfied” among patients’ post-discharge ratings.
  • Chilton Medical Center ranked in the top three in each category (less than 350 beds).
  • Overlook Medical Center appeared on the rankings (more than 350 beds) for nearly every specialty, including third in care of neurological disorders.
  • Hackettstown Medical Center earned a place on all specialty lists (less than 350 beds).
  • Newton Medical Center ranked among top hospitals (less than 350 beds) for treating prostate cancer.
  • CentraState Medical Center earned rankings (more than 350 beds) in all specialty categories, including second for breast cancer and congestive heart failure.
