New Jersey is one of the most ethnically and religiously diverse states in the country – a large percentage of the population are African American, Hispanic, Asian or Middle Eastern. Though Newark and Camden are two of the poorest cities in the country, New Jersey has the highest median household income of any state. New Jersey is also the most densely populated state, and is the only state in the country to have every one of its counties labeled "urban" by the Census Bureau, even though many areas of the state feature acres of farms and woodlands.
Consequently, our patients come from the complete spectrum of socioeconomic, racial and ethnic backgrounds; have traveled all over the world; speak a variety of languages; and display an array of medical conditions.
