Overlook Medical Center's Internal Medicine Residency Program is a three-year categorical community-based program. We support the mission of our sponsoring institution to design and deliver high quality, innovative and personalized health care and to build healthier communities. In turn, our focus here at the Overlook Medical Center Internal Medicine Residency Program is to train physician leaders who can carry this mission forward. We are deeply committed to improving the health of our socio-demographically diverse population and share our sponsoring institution's vision to improve lives and empower our communities through advocacy and outreach.
The program aims to create a learning environment that encourages the development of future health care leaders prepared to meet the challenges of our continuously changing health care environment. We are deeply committed to creating a safe environment that fosters inquiry and innovation. We strive to train physicians who will provide high quality, safe and affordable patient care in a culturally competent manner. As a program and an institution with a deep connection to our community including the underserved, we aspire to produce physicians who will serve our local community as primary care physicians, hospitalists and subspecialists. Our program prioritizes resident well-being, recognizing that emotional wellness is linked to providing high quality and compassionate care.
