Atlantic Health System is committed to improving access to primary care in our service areas. As a part of that commitment and to ease the financial burden on primary care providers, we have created the Physician Loan Assistance Program. The Atlantic Health System Physician Loan Assistance Program provides qualified residents up to $110,000 of medical loan repayment.
Who Is Eligible?
MD and DO residents graduating from an Atlantic Health System residency program in internal medicine, family medicine, general OB/GYN and general pediatrics who have committed to become employed by Atlantic Health System and its affiliates for the duration of the loan assistance program are eligible.
How It Works
Once you sign your contract agreeing to provide four years of full-time clinical service at Atlantic Health System or an affiliate, Atlantic Health System will begin payments at the end of each full year of service.
The maximum loan repayment over a four-year period of service is $110,000, payable towards loans from U.S. financial institutions only. After completing one year of service and completion of your application, participants will receive loan repayments made directly to their financial institution in monthly increments as follows:
- First Year: Up to $20,000
- Second Year: Up to $25,000
- Third Year: Up to $30,000
- Fourth Year: Up to $35,000
If you leave Atlantic Health System during the contract, only a portion of the loan repayment that was earned will be paid.

You will receive an email to apply from our vendor, Empower, after one year of service.
