First year Overlook Family Medicine residents spend one month on our surgical rotation participating in the evaluation and assessment of patients prior to their surgeries, in surgical procedures in the operating room, and in postoperative care. Residents are supervised by the director of surgical training for Overlook Medical Center. Residents also have the opportunity to participate in surgical procedures performed in the outpatient surgical suites.
Second year residents spend one month on an outpatient surgery rotation, rotating at several surgical specialist practices. They will have the experience of seeing patients with general surgical, colorectal and breast conditions.
