Applications for the Atlantic Sports Health Physical Therapy Residency will be reviewed for participants who have one (or more) of the below:
- A current athletic trainer designation
- A current license as an emergency medical technician, or
- Certification as an emergency responder through courses approved by the American Board of Physical Therapy (APTA).
Additionally, applicants must have a current New Jersey physical therapy license that is in good standing.
Applicants will need to have one year of orthopedic or sports experience or at least one outpatient orthopedic clinical rotation as a student.
Application Process
Applicants will be evaluated by the thoroughness and completeness of their application, their motivation and professionalism demonstrated in their in-person or online interview, their demonstration of leadership, commitment, and teamwork in athletics, and their superior clinical reasoning skills with a writing assignment completed as part of the application.
Applicants will submit three professional letters of reference and a complete resume including work history, career goals, certifications, awards, and interests with each application.
Professional letters of reference must have a signature and can either be emailed as a .pdf file or mailed to director.
