Morristown Medical Center has more than 400 volunteers, each sharing our commitment to high-quality patient care. We invite community members interested in joining our team to apply; however, we cannot guarantee acceptance due to volume and compliance.
The volunteer onboarding process usually takes several weeks. First, we ask that you submit an online application form. Then, we conduct a virtual interview for potential candidates and take the time to find a position that balances each person’s interests, skills, and availability with our medical center’s needs.
Application Forms
You will be asked to provide information on employment and volunteer experiences, as well as personal information and references. Application forms are accepted through online submission only:
- Adult volunteer application
- Junior volunteer application (15-18 years old)
Please note that it may take up to 60 days after submission of an application for you to be contacted.
Reference Letters
Two references are required. If your application is approved, we will provide you with the necessary forms to be completed by an adult, non-relative. Suggestions include neighbors, teachers, counselors, etc.

The 2025 to 2026 Junior Volunteer Program
The volunteer services team is accepting candidates for the junior volunteer 2025 to 2026 program. In this exciting opportunity, volunteers serve once a week – either after school for two hours or on the weekends for three hours.
We value a commitment of 75 service hours between September 2025 and June 2026. The volunteer must be at least 15 years old.
If you’d like to join the team and make a difference, please send an email to mmc.volunteers@atlantichealth.org. Your email should include an essay.
Please tell us in your own words (not AI-created) why you’d like to volunteer in a healthcare setting, what you hope to accomplish, and why treating our patients, visitors, and team members with kindness and respect is essential. Please give serious thought to what you would like to share. We would appreciate knowing more about how you plan to contribute to the program, the value of teamwork, and the significance of empathy in a hospital setting so that we can make an accurate assessment. Please keep your essay between 250 and 300 words.
Please note that space is limited, and we may not be able to accommodate all applicants.
We look forward to hearing from you!
