The Inflammatory Bowel Disease program at Morristown and Overlook medical centers are comprehensive centers of excellence for patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. IBD affects close to 2 million Americans.
- Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a chronic immune condition comprised of Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. While ulcerative colitis mainly effects the large bowel, Crohn’s disease can be present throughout the entire gastrointestinal tract.
- Nearly half of patients diagnosed with IBD have other organs affected, such as their skin, joints and eyes.
At Atlantic Health System, we recognize that no two patients are alike. We put our patients at the forefront of their treatment plan. We take into account the severity of their illness, their individual preferences, and ultimately our joined goals of care.
We have a multispecialty approach that meets all our patients' needs. Led by a dedicated team who focus on IBD, our team includes:
- Gastroenterologists
- Colorectal surgeons
- Rheumatologists

In addition, we offer behavioral health care, nutritional support, ostomy care and specialized infusion centers. Our collaborative approach allows a seamless transition from diagnosis to medical and surgical management, offering education, support, and compassion in our efforts to constantly improve our patient’s health.
