Atlantic Health System Named One of the “Best Workplaces in Health Care” by Great Place to Work® and Fortune

March 12, 2021

March 12, 2021 – Morristown, NJ – Honored for creating an inclusive, supportive workplace experience for all, despite the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, Atlantic Health System was named one of the 2021 Best Workplaces in Health Care & Biopharma™ by Great Place to Work® and Fortune – the fourth year in a row Atlantic Health has earned a spot on this annual list. Atlantic Health was ranked number 6 this year and is the only health care system based in New Jersey on the list.

This is just the latest recognition for Atlantic Health System’s workplace culture. Already certified by Great Place to Work®, Atlantic Health System has been named to the organization’s lists recognizing diversity, support for women and for 12 years in a row, one of Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work For®.

“In a year that none of us will forget, our health care heroes – our more than 17,000 team members – continued to deliver the high-quality patient care that’s become a hallmark of Atlantic Health System,” said Nikki Sumpter, Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, Atlantic Health System. “Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic our team members have faced many of the same hardships and challenges that their friends, family and neighbors do. We are proud to provide additional resources and are grateful to be recognized by Great Place to Work® and Fortune.”

In addition to maintaining annual merit increases for team members, Atlantic Health System also introduced new programs to support team members with housing options for those who wanted to remain socially distanced after work, child and elder care resources and financial assistance for those suffering from an extraordinary hardship.

This year’s ranking considered more than 825,000 employee surveys from companies across the health care and biopharma industries and factored in more than 60 different elements of a team member’s experience.

“Congratulations to the Best Workplaces in Health Care and Biopharma™. All of us owe a debt to the nurses, doctors, scientists and other colleagues in this industry over the past year, and we are honored to recognize the organizations that have done right by these pandemic heroes,” said Michael C. Bush, CEO Great Place to Work®. “The leaders of these high-trust, inclusive companies can expect excellent business results thanks to their ‘For All’ cultures.”
