July 19, 2017, Morristown, NJ – Atlantic Health System, a leading provider of health care in New Jersey, today announced it was named to the Great Place to Work® and Fortune’s inaugural list of Best Workplaces in New York.
Atlantic Health System ranked 6th on the list., and was the only New Jersey-based health care system to be highlighted in the New York Metropolitan region.
The new recognition follows Atlantic Health System’s ninth consecutive annual ranking on Fortune’s 2017 100 Best Companies to Work For® and placed eighth on Great Place to Work® and Fortune’s Best Workplaces in Health Care list.
Other companies on this year’s list include Comcast, American Express, Wegmans and Novo Nordisk. Employee surveys conducted by Great Place to Work shows the leading New York region workplaces outperformed their peers in a variety of important areas, such as management transparency, professional development, meaningful work promotion equity and the generosity of benefit programs. These high-achieving organizations are also nurturing and positive places, with an average of more than 90 percent of their employees believing colleagues care about each other and are willing to go the extra mile to get the job done.

Great Place to Work surveyed nearly 137,000 employees from Great Place to Work–Certified organizations with locations in New York state and the New York City metropolitan area. It analyzed how positively employees rated their organizations on more than 50 different metrics, including management transparency, professional development, meaningful work, promotion equity and the generosity of benefit programs. It also analyzed demographic patterns to ensure they were creating great workplaces for all employees, regardless of who they are or what they do for the organization. All surveys were anonymous. Results were normalized for organizations’ size and complexity and had at least a 95% confidence level with a 5% margin of error.
